Established in 1974, Motoria Sdn. Bhd. has been a trusted name in the Malaysian automotive industry for 50 years. As an authorized Honda 3S Center, we are committed to delivering exceptional sales, service, and spare parts support, ensuring every Honda driver experiences excellence at every step of their journey.
Founded by Dato’ Ismail Bin Hashim and Tuan Loke Chong Tean, Motoria was built on the vision of making quality vehicle ownership accessible to Malaysians. Over the decades, we have grown from a small showroom in Butterworth, Penang, to a state-of-the-art facility, driven by a passion for customer satisfaction and innovation.

Dato’ Ismail Bin Hashim

The late YBhg. Dato’ Ismail Bin Hashim was a visionary leader who played a key role in Penang’s political, economic, and social development. As a State Assemblyman and EXCO member (1963–1973), he championed progress, including the establishment of the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone. His entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of Motoria Sdn. Bhd. and several other businesses that contributed to regional growth. Honored with the K.M.N. and D.M.P.N. awards, his legacy lives on, with Jalan Dato’ Ismail Hashim named in his honor. At Motoria, we remain committed to continuing his vision of excellence and community development.

Today, under the leadership of Dr. Kamarulzaman Bin Dato’ Ismail (Chairman) and Puan Hayati Binti Dato’ Ismail (Managing Director), we continue to elevate the Honda ownership experience through world-class service, cutting-edge facilities, and a dedicated team of 60+ trained professionals.
The Chairman
Dr. Kamarulzaman Bin Dato' Ismail
Dr. Kamarulzaman Bin Dato’ Ismail is a practicing Orthopaedic Surgeon at Metro Specialist Hospital, Sungai Petani, Kedah, and has been Chairman of Motoria Sdn. Bhd. since 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Universiti Malaya (1981) and a Fellowship (FRCS) from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (1991).
With a deep commitment to sustainable business growth, Dr. Kamarulzaman plays a crucial role in strategic planning and corporate development, working closely with the Managing Director and management team to enhance the company’s success. His dedication to both medicine and the automotive industry reflects the values instilled by his late father, Motoria’s Founder, Dato’ Ismail Bin Hashim.
Beyond Motoria, he has transformed Metro Specialist Hospital into a leading healthcare facility, expanding it from two shop lots into a 10-acre, state-of-the-art hospital with 24 specialists, 95 inpatient beds, and multiple ICU units and operating theaters. His leadership continues to drive excellence, innovation, and community progress, ensuring that both Motoria and Metro Specialist Hospital remain at the forefront of their industries.
The Managing Director
Puan Hayati Binti Dato' Ismail
Puan Hayati Binti Dato’ Ismail assumed leadership of Motoria Sdn. Bhd. in 1996, driving the company to new heights as Managing Director. A Diploma in Accountancy graduate from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), she is also a Registered Remisier with Suruhanjaya Sekuriti Malaysia (SC) and a member of PERSAMA since 1987.
Beyond Motoria, she contributes to community and business development, serving on the board of Koperasi Tunas Muda and as Chairperson of Tunas Edar Sdn. Bhd. Under her leadership, Motoria has expanded significantly, earning industry recognition. Committed to team unity and excellence, she upholds the Founder’s legacy, driving progress for customers, the community, and the nation.
The Milestones
From Humble Beginnings to a Leading Honda 3S Center – A Journey of Growth and Excellence.
1974
Motoria Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated, founded by YBhg. Dato’ Ismail Bin Hashim and Tuan Loke Chong Tean.
1976
Opened the first business premise at 4007, Jalan Kampung Benggali, Butterworth, Penang. Operations were led by Dato’ Ismail Bin Hashim with a team of five core members, including a Sales Manager, Sales Representative, and Administrative Staff.
1978
Due to significant growth, the company relocated to Jalan Chain Ferry, expanding into a showroom with a workshop.
1980
Moved to the current premises, featuring a showroom and workshop.
Acquired adjacent land for a Service Division.
Expanded further with another land acquisition for a stockyard.
1996
Leadership transitioned to Dr. Kamarulzaman Bin Ismail (Chairman) and Puan Hayati Binti Dato’ Ismail (Managing Director).
2001 – 2018
With the formation of Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., the company enhanced its equipment and expanded the sales team.
Grew from 10 to 17 Sales Representatives, with a total workforce of nearly 60 employees across Administration, Sales, and Service Divisions.
2018 & Beyond
Laid the foundation for Motoria’s next 20 years of growth, securing a strategic location at H.S (D) 41677, PT1384 Mukim 01, Daerah Seberang Perai, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.
